It started with a pain and a burden—to be for them who I needed when I was younger. And from that burden, a vision was born for every young person to feel seen, heard, and accepted.
In 2019, we hosted our first Youth Conference with 50 individuals and a simple belief: every young person deserves to feel seen, heard, and accepted. What started as a one-day event has grown into a movement of Safe Havens across Baltimore.

Meet Our Founder & Executive Director
Dr. Erin Lonon founded I Am A Child of God, Inc. in 2019 with a vision to create the kind of spaces she once needed as a young person—places where youth feel seen, heard, and accepted. A Doctor of Physical Therapy, former Division I athlete, and passionate youth advocate, Erin brings together her faith, leadership, and commitment to whole-person well-being to help young people build confidence, discover their potential, and thrive.
